yoz....have you ever wonder wat wushu can benefit one....some interesting facts about wushu which i found on a forum........

wushu improves and continues to improve balance, co-ordination, muscle structure, breathing, speed, power, poise, posture, scientific outlook, athleticisim, coolness (heh heh) Cool

wushu also improves chinese language skills, knowledge of chinese culture, confidence, chances to meet like minded people from all over the world.

wushu improves your sense of humour.

wushu ruins any fun in doing any other sports, or at least generally, simply because it's not, whatever the sport is, wushu ha ha.

wushu improves etc. etc. etc.

Wushu:
1) very good for physical flexibility, wushu had extensive stretching techniques unlike many other martial arts.
2) wushu has hard and soft styles and a huge array of styles: Norhtern, southern fist, Animal forms, weapons, two person drils and forms, and even combat: san shou/ san da competitions were first MMA.
3) basic of wushu are very difficult for beginners and you have to persevere, once you get your basics good they last you a lifetime.
4) wushu training can last a lifetime- Neijia takes place- taij, bagua, xingyi, yiquan, qigong, meditation.
5) wushu has a long history and philosophy from ancients: I-ching, buddhsits, taoist, muslim, Traditional chinese medicine/acupunture, yogic aspects.
